PS Elements 7 (RAW)
My Nikon D90 produces an NEF RAW file. PS Elements 7 is giving me an error message saying the file is in the wrong format. I can go to a JPEG photo, do an "open as RAW", and it goes right into the RAW processing window. On the other hand, when I click on a RAW photo with "open" it gives me the error message. I have Scott Kelby's book on PS Elements 7, but I don't seem to find an answer to this problem. How do I open and process a RAW NEF file using PS Elements 7?

Re: PS Elements 7 (RAW)
Go here and install Camera Raw v5.5 (assuming Windows). You may want Elements v7.0.3 while you are at it.

Re: PS Elements 7 (RAW)
The RAW from the D3100 requires Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) v6.3 which requires Elements 9.
You can
- upgrade to Elements 9 and download the latest ACR (best option as E9 has masking)

- use the Nikon software to render the RAW to a tif file (I asume Nikon includes such software)
- download and use the latest version of DNG Converter to convert the files to Adobe RAW (DNG) which will work with Elements 8.
