    Picture Sizing
Hello. I want to know how to take a picture of a small (up close) item (like a coin for example) and keep its actual size in the photo. How do you set your camera (I have a Sony 9.1 pixel 15x zoom) or the photo software to keep the images exact size. Mine seems to enlarge or make smaller each item in the picture. Thanks for your help !

There is a way to do this consistently. I want to keep the exact size to be printed in a book (and to be emailed) . I want my 2 inch coin to be 2" in the picture.

I realize that the monitor size can present a different sized pic.

You will need to include a 'scale' like a ruler in the image to allow size matching when it is reproduced. The ruler/scale can be cropped out later.

The publisher/printer/post-production work can then exactly set the output scale for the particular repro method to 'match' for reference.

what are the resolutions of all the different monitors this coin is going to be viewed from? You'll need a different file for each different resolution value.
