    Degrading Question?

I have leanred from you good people that I degrade a JPEG each time I open and save it, but with both PSE 7 and Light Roon 2.2 that I'm testing, when I bring one in, editor it and then save it under a new name, the original is still in my files, along with the new one I just created. Does this mean the original JPEG is simply being copied and has not been degraded?

    Re: Degrading Question?

    Ron -

yes! Your original is exactly the same as it was before as long as you don't save and overwrite it.

If you wanted to handle it even better, the original should be in a loseless format, like your native camera's RAW format. You can edit it and save as JPEG using a different name for every iteration.

Thanks, guys. That's what I figured, but I wanted to make absolutely sure.
