Help: importing Nikon NEF into Apple Aperture
I just bought a Nikon D300s, took a few practice shots in RAW format and tried uploading them into Aperture. No dice. Little preview images upload and when I click on them I get a maroon box that says "Unsupported Image Format" JPEG images seem to be importing fine.

I am running Snow Leopard (10.6.1) and Aperture 2.1.4 Works fine with my old D70.

    Any help?

Not really. Mac and Aperture have not yet released an update that covers the D300s. Until they do, the best workaround is to download the Adobe DNG converter 5.5, convert the files to DNG format, then upload them to Aperture.

I understand that even Nikon's software, nx2, is having problems reading the D300s NEF files, though as a Canon user, I'm kind of out of that particular loop.

Anyway, here's a link to the download for DNG converter v5.5 for Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...jsp?ftpID=4575

Thanks for the work around, sounds like a bit of a PIA though.

Why would there be a difference in file format between D300 and D300s?

BTW: I assume, that just because I can't view the images in Aperture, they are importing properly? If I can just unload them for now and do any organizing and editing later, when Apple gets their act together, that would be good enough for me.
