I took some photos of my 6 month old son yesteday that I wanted to try my hand at converting to black and white. I did a rough job but they seemed a little flat and I lost a lot of detail in the eyes (partially shaded as they are under a hat but perfectly exposed on the original). So I am wondering for those of you who do it regularly what processes do you use to convert your images. I am using ps cs4. oh and is there a way to recreate the look of specific films?
