Re: Best photo editing software?
I currently use Photoshop at work and mostly use the polygonal lasso, wand and brush to cut out backgrounds. Does anyone know of a quicker simpler tool? (doesn't have to be in Photoshop as we're looking at trying new software)

Re: Best photo editing software?
I use Lightroom for 90% of my processing, but you can never beat photoshop if you have to go in and really correct some things. Lightroom is decent for that but photoshop I find easier to control for corrections.

Re: Best photo editing software?
I know, Lightroom is often blamed for not being the best RAW convertor in the world. But... actually there is no much choice around. Finally it appears the most handy and versatile tool.

Re: Best photo editing software?
Hi Everyone, it's truly functional to use Photoshop. Though there're few more features in LR5. If we meticulously compare, there's not vast difference. It's about how you aware and utilises specific function for particular task/ process. Believe me, both are absolutely amazing for every image editing.

Re: Best photo editing software?
There are many online and offline software to try out editing, but I would go with Photoshop. I started with Picasa and Picmonkey during the initial stages of my editing and slowly moved to few more. During that time I didn't feel like moving to Photoshop. After using all these software I realized one thing that each software has something unique that stands out than the other, and later I started using each software according to my need. Then I started using Photoshop and I was quite satisfied and I must say that this is a software excels in more features than other software. I still continue to work with Picasa and other such software according to the needs but most of the time it is Photoshop.

Re: Best photo editing software?
GIMP is similar to Photoshop and we'll give some advanced actions. The terminology is somewhat different but you can search for tips on GIMP or Photoshop/gimp conversions. Good luck!

Re: Best photo editing software?
I think that it depends on budget.
Photoshop and Lightroom might be the best, but for less money Corel PaintShopPro X8 is pretty good.
