    Best noise reduction program?
Sometimes 800 to 1600 is acceptable for noise on my D80 and sometimes its not.
What noise reduction program would you recommend?
I know noise ninja gets good reviews. Others?
I'd spend up to 100 dollars if I have to but would prefer less.
    Thank you!

Frog - 'Neat Image' is another.. Seems to help, but no miracle worker either. Their freebie version is good for images up to I believe 1024 pxs.

I'm fond of Imagenomic's Noiseware Pro myself. So is the Photoshop guru Scott Kelby, by the way.

I haven't done any kind of comparison. But I've been using Noiseware Pro for a few years and I've been really impressed. The pro version costs $69.95 and it's very sophisticated. It has way more controls than I know what to do with. But the default settings work really well. I usually just back them off a bit to let some noise through, as I think that preserves detail and makes the images look more natural. I can't say it's the best since I haven't used anything besides Lightroom's built-in noise reduction. But I have been more than happy with it.

Thanks everyone. I'll do some comparisons.
And maybe if I don't forget to take my iso settings off of 1600, I won't need it so much.

Heh heh. Yeah, I don't actually use noise reduction software very often at all - probably once every other month. But when I need it, I'm glad it's there. And I'm always very impressed at what a good job it does.
