Something From the Gallery
I haven't used this forum since we started it. Sorry about that. Too much work.
But I just saw this image in the gallery and wanted to share it here: http://gallery.photographyreview.com...php?photo=5824
Check out my comments. I think this one is worthy of a discussion. It has a lot going on. And I find it especially meaningful. I'd like to see if anyone else agrees. And if so, why.
Re: Something From the Gallery

Re: Something From the Gallery
Well, I'll be honest,
I saw a shot of a ceiling with an American flag stuck in it, until I read that it was "meaningful" at which point I went back and began looking at it. THEN I began to feel things, and see things differently. But I still can't say I am moved. John, have you had any further articulations about your reaction to it?

Re: Something From the Gallery
Maybe it's my cynicism over the past few years, but here's what I see. I see an ostentatiously huge American flag in a HUGE building, devoid of people and the architectural design very cold. The design is modern and contemporary with many large, showy, cold office buildings and new hotels. The photograph does grab me, but not necessarily in a positive way. Does that make sense? I haven'r read any of the responses in the gallery, I wanted to record my gut reaction and not consider other's reactions and risk changing my original thoughts.
