... and we discussed art. That's why I'm posting here on the Art forum. Oh, and because of the way I treated the picture.
I found myself in Gurnee and realized I had enough time to do a f2f (face-to-face) with Trevor, so I popped into an internet cafe at the outlet mall and dropped him a private message, hoping he'd read it. Well, I'm lucky he did, because he was moving this weekend! So he gave me a call on my cellphone and told me he wouldn't want to pass this opportunity up, and took time out of his busy day to meet me at Borders Cafe.
We had a really nice time! Discussed a lot of things, photographic and otherwise, and I was very happy to find that we held many ideas in common. Our discussion of simplicity in photography opened my mind to a new type of challenge that I'm planning to incorporate in my own photography, and possibly even open a thread on the subject and get everybody involved, in Trevor's honor. So stay tuned!
We discussed, among other things: the challenges of photography in our corner of the world (great skies, ugly suburban landscapes); finding the time and motivation to shoot; photography for the purpose of documentation (Trevor's Pizza!Pizza! guy, my art); styles of photography; styles of critique; and what our membership on PhotographyReview.com has done for our craft, personally. It was a great time. Trevor was open to discussing a lot of different things, which was wonderful. He's a really nice guy.
Anyway, so I took some pictures with my little Powershot S500. Trevor looks great! But me being me, I hate how I look in most photos. SO, since I own them, I can do what I want. :-) What follows is my interpretation of our afternoon together:

I will email the pix to Trevor, and if he chooses to post them in their original splendor, he can.
