Thanks John I appreciate the kind comment. First of all this was taken with my Fuji S602Z using window light only. I positioned the items on a chair on a black cloth that I use just for this type image and shot off a tripod.

Now for the item themselves. The old photo album I inherited from my grandmother who died at age 102 a few years ago. The photo came out of the album of course and is of her father. It dates back to between 1910 and 1915 and was taken by my great uncle not long before he went of to France to fight in the Great War. My great grandfather was named David and he was a rural mail carrier in the late 1800's and early 1900's. This of course meant that he was doing it with a horse and buggy. During those years he carried this pocket watch to try and keep him on schedule as he guided his horse over the rolling hills. Upon his death the watched passed on to my grandmother who gave it to her husband (my grandfather) who carried it for many years. I remember it well as he would pull it out of his pocket and announce to me as a small boy that it was time to head for the house for dinner or go to the barn to milk. After he passed on in the 1960's my grandmother gave me the watch as the oldest grandson. I have now passed it on to my son David who is named for his great great grandfather. It is my hope that this piece of family memorablia will continue to go down through the generations. David 's wife as many of you know gave birth to their first son last week. His name is Wesley he is named after another great grandfather of mine and he is now in line to one day own the watch and to be the teller of the story.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Your welcome John

I found a great subject today...a pair of my daughters old boots
Gave me a chance to try out my extension tubes on the buckle.
I'm not sure about this macro work though. It ain't easy!

Here's my attempt. Had several more subjects/ideas but less time to execute.

Surprised that my college computer still turned on! It sounded like a turbine jet engine but that massive 20mb (that's with an "m") hard drive spun up like a charm

Yes, I said the "E" word lol.
And thank you for the compliments loupey.
#1 and #2 were taken with my 50mm 1.8 alone.
Not sure what tube(s) I used for the buckle. I bought some cheapy tubes from ebay to see how I would cope with them.
They are ok. But I am still in love with my 50mm. It's a tough act to follow.

    Re: November Photo Project: Old

OK, so two more subjects/technologies that I consider "old".

The third one is a combination of the two (not in PS tho )

This is old, from the early 1960s. Scanned from a 2x2 Kodachrome slide, the 35mm film scanner cropped off a border.

The shot of the rocks framed in the window is great. Actually they are all real good, very interesting building.
