    Happy Channukah!
Very nice! These are beautiful candle photos, Cara! I also have to say, I'm pleased that our first photos for this Project are Channukah images. It's good to share and show off our diversity. Plus, I am an honorary Jew - or so my Jewish friends tell me. L'chaim! :)

I would love to post the Wal Mart Channukah ham photo that's been making the rounds on the Internet but it's not my photo and it might not be appropriate :D

If it was a Christmahanakkah year I would have gotten a shot of our menorah in front of the Christmas tree. I like the juxtaposition being half and half gives me :)

I did discover that it's really hard to try and light candles with one hand while trying to shoot with your XSi one handed. :P

I had to google wal mart channukah ham to see what that was, HA! And I thought it was funny when my Jewel was selling ham and cheese on challah bread.

I'm sorry, but challah was made for meat and cheese - so delicious! :D

Maybe not ham, though. Salame would be my first pick.

Since we are not allowed to hang up christmas lights in the dorm, we decided that just laying them out in the middle of the room is just as good. Bringing a little holiday spirit from the college student's room.

Last weekend the Chamber of Commerce used these luminaria to light the sidewalk on Main Street for candlelight shopping. This weekend they used them for a candlelight stroll on Merry Christmas Hill.

Salt Lake City - Temple Square Christmas Lights
I finally got out for some Holiday photos, thanks to the annual Salt Lake City Temple Square Holiday photowalk. Temple Square is in downtown Salt Lake City, at the LDS church headquarters and the SLC temple site. They go nuts with the lights and other Christmas decorations. It's a great place to play with night photos and an excellent place for a winter / Holiday photowalk. This is the 3rd year I've gone. Unfortunately, I was an hour late this year because of the traffic. There was a David Archuleta / Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert that I didn't know about and it made a mess of things. I did make it, though :)

The first photo is a group of photographers there for the photowalk. The second is a reflecting pool with these little transparent lighted floating globes. The third photo is out-of-focus Christmas lights in the trees. No, it wasn't an accident :) I shot a whole bunch of out-of-focus lights and this was the one I liked the best.
