    February Photo Project: Silhouette
    Hey guys!

It's that time again! Photo Project time....
The response to last month was great, but I know we can do even more. So lets get out there and shoot!

    SILHOUETTE

This is the first of the member suggested Photo Projects that we will be doing throughout the year. Silhouette is a pretty simple idea, but so many wonderful kinds of images can be made with them. I would love to see what you guys see when you think: SILHOUETTE

This was taken yesterday while I was practicing with my manual settings. Although it was an accident, I kind of like the way it came out. I will try to get some silouhettes "on purpose" and post them later!!! Hope you like!!!

Hey Axel, I love that third image of the theater. There is a little too much detail in the building to be a true silhouette, but what the heck, it's a sweet pic!

    Thanks for sharing!

Oh my, that looks positivly painful, but it's still a very sweet image. BTW, it is very bad for your sensor to be exposed to direct sunlight like that. I wouldn't make a habbit of doing it. I know it is a very tempting thing, but it's not worth a worthless camera. I am guilty myself of doing it though. Like I said, it's very tempting.

    Thanks for sharing!

Hmm... I am viewing it on an LCD too. They do tend to show more shadow detail.

So much of what's posted so far is not silhouette - at least not to my mind.
I think it really ought to be stark contrast, almost black in the silhouette.
I don't even think shadow is silhouette, but I'll go with the majority on that because I've got shadow photos too :)
With my PC crashed & burned I haven't got images to hand on the laptop, but I'll go dig for some when I get the big machine back up and running.

In the meantime, keep them coming !
I like what's been posted here, and it's giving me some ideas ;)

I have Photoshop Elements and used the clone stamp tool. It look like a little rubber stamp. You can increase the viewing size of your image to something like 400% and it becomes really easy to copy (or "clone") part of your picture to cover over another part of your picture. You can also select different brush sizes and levels of transparency (or "opacity" 'til you get what you want.

    Re: February Photo Project: Silhouette
I had to cheat with this one, because there is a subject as well as a silhouette.
Cropping to just the silhouette doesn't have the impact of the full frame I think.
