    Any suggestions for March?
I've been plodding along, in a dream, it seems because March is here already!!!
Do you have any suggestions for our March project?

The featured photo for February will be announced around Tuesday 4th March

How about (this is an idea I had for some time) ... imagine you have been commissioned to make a postcard of your local area/town, including the lettering.

Ooh I love it! That is such a cool idea Mike.
I'll see if anyone else suggests anything but I REALLY like YOUR idea!

I second his idea even though I don't think the town that I live in is interesting in anyway, we'll give it a shot.

    Alison,
There was a thread posted that asked this same question, down a little bit, here is the link. http://forums.photographyreview.com/...ad.php?t=16252.
    Also some new things,
Along The Rode.... shots looking out the car window, biking, walking, hiking.
Negatives... a pictures switch into a negative.
The Sky's The Limit... moon, stars, sunrise, sunset, cloud configurations.

Yeah I know about that thread but I thought I would ask a fresh question specifically for this month.

However, on reading that thread, OldSchool made a suggestion that the featured artist chooses the next project. I love that idea.
The problem with that is that if the featured artist doesn't log in for a few weeks we are left without a project.

Here is one idea I have since winter is so long this year! and there are fewer photo ops depending on where you live - and the weather.

"Creative Photography" or "Creating a Photo Op where there is none" or - Maybe someone can think of a better title.

However, the idea would be to show how to make the "drab" or boring into something artistic, interesting and fun. I'd love to get some new ideas!

Why not then simply go shoot some mundane, daily objects and make some spectacular photos out of it? Hopefully all in natural light (or those with studio could have some advantage). Landscape shouldn't count since we have it in both Jan or Feb already...I think :D

    Hi Alison,

    Here are a couple:

    Abstract
Between Sunset and Dark (or Dark and Sunrise)
    Candids
    My House
    People At Work

Also, I want to try throwing out a suggestion (again). One thing done on another board that I thought was quite fun was that whomever's photo is chosen for the month chooses the topic for the next month. The featured photographer also commentates that next month. It kept thing fresh and fun -- allowing us to get to know the other shooters.

An add-on idea is to have the featured photographer also choose the next month's featured photo, and explain why. This is really fun because you really learn that different people have different artistic tastes (And we has 'artist' must learn to broaden our appeal.). It also helps pass the baton to all in the PR.com community.

However, there is some loss of control with these ideas, and I can see why maybe they wouldn't get adopted... Just want to throw them out here for discussion.

    Cheers,
    Tim

There is no project as yet. I chose the featured photograph on the 1st March and emailed it to Aquadog. She posts the featured photo on the first Tuesday of the month, so that part of it is out of my hands.

What I plan to do is to post a congratulations to the featured photographer, when I see their photograph at the top of the forum, and they can then name the project, preferably with 24 hours :D
