    2009 February Project: Love
In light of Valentine's day I thought "Love" would make a perfect project for February :D

It can be anything from, a couple on a park bench, kissing pictures, hugging pictures, touching pictures, families, cuddling pets, wedding pictures, to valentine card designs etc.

Let's get creative! Show me some lovin' people lol.

A little story to back this one up. I took this at the child's (Tristan) baptism this past September. His parents are both friends of mine. The church that this was done in has a tradition of passing the child onto a member of the congregation (usually said person is asked before hand), as a symbol of welcoming the child into the church family.

Except in this case, the gentleman in the choir was not told, as he is the child's great grandfather.

I like this image because it takes me back to a time of when I was a student and I would shoot a Polaroid 5x4 before exposing a 5x4 Tri-X or Plus-X.

So often I'd pull the polaroid sheet film through the rollers only to get uneven development (most likely the developer pods were still frozen) and forgot to wipe the smelly little pink spreader of fixer/varnish over the pos and neg and it would go brown or pink within hours. No doubt some photographers will relate to having done this exact same thing with Polaroid sheet film.

35 years ago I first shot this property using a Polaroid film back with 52 or 58(?) film ... and it is exactly how I remember it ... brown and still unfixed. This more recent image is like a time machine ... I also love that photography is timeless.

It made me sad for a long time too, but I've changed how I feel about it.
Though these two have obvious problems to the "regular" world, they have each other and I see them accepting each other for what they are and that's love.
    An obvious grab shot.

'South American Head' ... I love the panoramas of the Wolgan Valley.

    http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...SmokeIV804.png

I love the Western Blue Mountains. I love climbing the escarpment. I love having anticipatory nostalgia knowing that one day I'll stand on top of South American Head. I love being in the bush by myself. I love being alone taking shots ... but I hate snakes. There are too many snakes in my life.

The triptich show that although being the one image, each trip along the valley is seen (slightly) differently.

I love to point and shoot. I love to climb a hill, point the camera at another hill and shoot it.

'Because They're There'. Yankee Hat and the Old Boboyan Road, approaching the Bimberi Wilderness.

    http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...nkeeHat804.png

'Because They're There II'. Possibly Baal Bone Point, the Western Blue Mountains. I was off the map when I took this shot. Even back tracking from topo maps at home, I've not been able to I dentify this formation as there are so many formations like this where I was walking.

    http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...ortland804.png

'Because They're There III'. The Western face of the Newnes Plateau from a(nother) failed attempt at South Americam Head. In that first image of South American Head it jusy looks like a dawdling gully scramble ... but the cliffs are truley awesome.
