    Software Guide
We added a basic photography software guide to the Learn section, last week:

    http://www.photographyreview.com/pho...eguidecrx.aspx

It breaks photo software into four main categories and describes the benefits of each one. It also inlcudes a few software title recommendations for each category.

We can use more software reviews. If you use any of the software titles listed in the guide, please post your reviews. Specifically, we can use more reviews for:

    Picasa
    ACDSee
    Gimp
    Corel Draw and Paintshop Pro
    Photoshop CS2 and Elements
    Any RAW Conversion Software
    Any Color Management Products

If you can add reviews for any of the above or any other software, we would appreciate it. And if there's software missing that we should add, please let me know.

    Thanks!

To get some reviews on those pages that don't have any, I've got an offer for you. Be the first to post a legit review on any software that has no reviews, and I'll give you a book from our extensive photo book library. We've got books on advanced and basic photo techniques, digital photography, studio lighting, black and white photography, and more.

Post a new review for any software that has no reviews, before midnight tonight, and post a reply with the review link, here. I'll send you a list of books that are available and you can choose one. One book per person - although you're more than welcome to post more than one review :D

    Get to work!

Cerious Software, Thumbs Plus image management isn't in your list.
I've used it for 5 years, and haven't found anything I prefer (yet).

I guess you mean it's not on the list I posted above? But it's in the reviews, with a bunch of reviews. But we can always use another one. Won't qualify for a book, though, since there are already a bunch of reviews: http://www.pcphotoreview.com/cat/dig...7_3080crx.aspx

There has to be some software you've used that doesn't have a review yet. Here's a link to the whole software review section: http://www.pcphotoreview.com/cat/dig...T_3793crx.aspx

    Me too... :(
I'm getting the same message as Steve (from the other thread) when I try to write a review for CS2: "The page cannont be displayed" I had this same problem a few weeks ago with the Noise Ninja review page. I just tried the Noise Ninja page again with the same result.

I've used software that isn't even listed - let alone has no reviews !

    Ulead (R) Cool 360 (TM)
It may look cool but it's gone straight in my rubbish bin.

Ulead is listed and jorgemonkey likes it: http://www.photographyreview.com/cat...9_2670crx.aspx

I've never heard of Cool 360. Is it 3D software or is it photography-related?

Ulead (R) is a very good program to use for WEB publishing. But now their are pushing video editing.

Ulead turn out budget priced tools it seems, lots of them.

Cool 360 is a program for panoramas.
Well it has a cool (kiddie style) UI but for maing panoramas I found it very limiting.
Unless you shoot exactly like it wnts, it doesn't work.

Check out RealViz Stitcher, used by the film industry for matte paintings.
