    Skin tones in B&W?
How can you capture those really bright whites in the skin tones for a B&W? I take mostly natural light outdoor shots, and have been told upon conversion in PS that they are "dark" and too grey... this shot in particular got that comment:

Any idea what I am doing wrong in the conversion????

    Try the Channel Mixer...
    CC,

There's a fairly large thread I started in this forum about b&w conversion. It was a while back, but Sebastian linked to it not too long ago (his post was about making it a sticky). If you sift through the recent archives you should be able to find it.

One thing we talked about was using the channel mixer to adjust the tonality of bw shots. In RGB mode, if you look at each channel individually you see the big difference in the tones. The Channel mixer allows you to fine tune it.

Try it and let me know what you think...

Mmm, must be me... but I don't see anything wrong with his shot

Maybe it can use a slight correction, but that's about it.
