Cool Digital Noise Reduction PS Action Set

A cool action set for Photoshop (works in my 7.0 version) that includes increasing noise reduction levels.

From the couple of photos I tried it on it worked great.

Re: Digital Noise Reduction PS Action Set

How do I install this into PS I'm new to photoshop and the directions on the website for installing it seem to be aimed at people with a decent ammount PS experence and don't make any sence to me.

Re: Digital Noise Reduction PS Action Set

What version of PS do you have?

I'm not sure where CS or CS2 store actions, but for PS 7.0 do the following.

Open the zip file you downloaded from the site. You will need WinZip.

    Click on extract files.

    Select all files.

Find the folder where PS keeps its actions.

C;\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Presets\Photoshop Actions (or what ever drive you installed PS on)

    Close out Winzip.

    Open Photoshop.

    Click on the Actions Tab.

Click on the little triangle pointing to the right.

    Select load action.

Go find the folder where you installed the Digital Noise Reduction action.

Select the .atn file and hit OK.

Now when you look at the actions you will see DNR Level 0 through 9.

Lower levels work good and yield less plastic looking images. YMMV.

Remember you can only have one layer and it has to be named Background. You may have to flatten images first before applying DNR.

    Hope this helps,

Re: Digital Noise Reduction PS Action Set

    Hi,

And this is my experience (another ps noise reduction plugin). I frequently attend concerts and make concert phtos. Unfortunately, they appear sometimes to be rather noisy since I own an odrinaru consumer digital camera (I'm a musician rather than a photographer):

It helps me great, hope, you'll enjoy it as well.
