    RAW Conversions
I have given up on Capture One thanks to their billing problems. So I'm looking at other, hopefully cheap, solutions for RAW conversions of digital Rebel files.

Photoshop CS is too expensive for me and includes a lot of junk I don't need. I have 5.5 which is OK. This means that the Adobe converter won't work.

I own BreezeBrowser which is great. It is supposed to convert RAW files but needs extra software to do it. Yet, nothing on their site or in the application says what that extra piece is!

The original Canon CD is missing but everything from it was installed. That includes a RAW converter but there are only very minimal things it will do. It appears that Canon no longer offers the downloads of their camera-based software to see if there is an upgrade. At least, I can't find it anymore.

Any ideas or am I out of luck?

    Thanks!

It is possible to download software off of the internet, using such tools as Kazaa Lite or BitTorrent, Emule, Edonkey, winMX, and a bunch of others. I've never searched for PhotoshopCS on file sharing software, but maybe if someone else were to, they'd find it.

Canon has the updates. but there doesn't seem to be a download for the original files.

Anyway, their File Viewer Utility has all the features you could ever need, way beyond basic, it's just damn slow. You can download the Eos Viewer Utility update, that speeds it up a bit.

I suggest you contact Canon, or see if someone is willing to burn you a copy of the Rebel disk.

    If it helps...
    Michael,

I don't have an answer to your questions, but I have a copy of the Canon RAW software disc (from my 10D) that I'd be happy to send you if you could use it...
