Posting images on the web with Exif data (CS2 question)
Using CS2, would I be able to shrink & save images to post on the web and have the image contain the Exif data? Currently I shrink it down and use the Save For Web command to compress it. I've looked at other images that are posted and I like to check the exif data to see what camera settings were used. Thanks!

Use "Save As" and then save as a JPEG. EXIF is retained.

Save for Web kills the EXIF data.

Just make sure that you select a lower quality (you could use SFW to gauge the end size and then use Save As) to compress. The compression for JPEG will be the same in both saves. Also be sure to use the sRGB color space for the web. Your printer profile probably will look terrible on the Web and on a monitor that is profiled differently.

Be sure to save any edited file under a different name or in a different folder from the original ! ! ! You might also wish to save the edited file in a 'lossless' format such as the native .PSD in Adobe Photoshop CS/2 or even a TIFF file. The PSD files have the plus of retaining the history of your actions and filter applications so that you can revert to a previous or intermediate version.

    Does this help?

    Cool, yes it does!

I'm just going to end up building an action that will save a PSD copy (If I want) and then shrink it down to the size I want and then save it to a different folder.

I didn't even think about trying the "Save As" command, but now I think I will :D
