Photoshop Filter Fan Club, meet here!

I am enamoured with Photoshop's filters, and just love seeing what new "mood" they can add to some of my shots. I haven't tried to print anything out yet, so I'm not sure if a "watercolor" would actually resemble a real watercolor painting, but I intend to do that as soon as I get my office space when the basement is finished.

Anywhoo, I thought this was the most appropriate place for me to discuss this and post some of my results.

Anyone else love playing with PS filters?



Here are some examples I've done recently:

Hey Kelly, I too enjoy playing and experimenting with PS filters. I don't do it a lot, but like you said, it's fun to see just what you can do to change your images. As for the water color filter, I have only used it once, and I liked it. I did see some photos printed as water color images, and they looked realy nice. I talked to the photographer, and he printed them himself, on water color paper. Not sure if you used the filter or if it was just the way the paper changed the image, but it did look like a water color painting.

I use filters quite often, but in most cases it is to make a subtle enhancement in the mood of an image, so you probably wouldn't even know it was there.

Can you pick out the filter I used in this image?

The "Zoom back 45 years" filter? Seriously, nice effect. Since you said you used a filter I assume it was the Sepia filter after you desaturated the color.

Acually I applied the sepia tone using the hue/saturation tool in photoshop. I never really thought of that as using a filter.

The filter I used was the diffused glow. I think it gave the image a nice touch.

Kelly, that picture of the flowers has some awesome colors, almost to rich to be believed. It has the look of a painting. Very, very nice.

lol, yeah, even I had to find out where it was. They added a Photo set of filters in CS, and since you said filter, and the sepia effect was the most obvious one there,......you get the idea. It's found under "Image->Adjustments->Photo Filter"... but the method you used is better IMO.

Th result is definetely good in your photo and that's what counts.

You guys should post the pictures before the filter and after the filter. I don't know, its just a suggestion so that we can really see the changes and the touch that the filter adds.
