    Photoshop CS Beginner
    Hi all,

I use a point and shoot camera for shooting clothing and other product photography, but feel the photos are lacking a little contrast. We have Photoshop CS in our home, but I only know how to use it for cropping and resizing. I'd like to learn to use Photoshop CS to add punch to my photos. Where can I find good online easy step by step tutorials for beginners, specifically on levels, curves, brightness/contrast? Thanks in advance for your help!

Buy a book or Google for photoshop tutorials.

I bought 'the photoshop cs book for digital photographers' and its great. Has a lot of stuff that is also useful in PS 7.0. Well worth the price. It won't tell you everything about PS but will tell you almost everything you will need to post process digital images.

    Hi Green.

I would look into finding "Photoshop CS for DIgital PHotographers" by Scott Kelby. It is a comprehensive volume on how to do all the basics and some advanced things in Photoshop CS.

You should be able to find a copy of this book on Amazon or BN.com.

Check out Photoshop TV which is also available as a video Podcast. I just found this one recently and looked thru past episodes to see if they do much with contrast, but you'll learn a lot from it.

I watched episode 30 yesterday and Scott Kelby shows some techniques that may help you. He edits some of his photos from the slot canyons out west but the techniques can be used with any subject. This part is in about the middle of the 40 minute episode.

The help topics built in photoshop are actually quite adequate.
