Help with barcode scanning software for use with Canon 5D
I am looking for some helpful feedback on a barcode or other program that will help me manage and organize images from a portrait shoot with 100 or more athletes. After the order form is completed, I need to make sure there is some way to tag or recognize the images for that order. When athletes are changing every 2 minutes, I need to keep things organized and my mind sane (if possible). Any ideas? Thanks.

Do you have an order entry/processing system to generate bills and orders? Does it allow for a unique number to be assigned manually to each order?
If it does, you can use the frame/image/photo (#/x photos) that the EOS 5D will assign. Then enter that in an appropriate blank or even just on the paper order form, or the sequence such as 'Photo #39-Photo #42'.
The photos can be manually visually tagged if you want to just 'look at them' by using a flip card/book that starts at some number and goes up and then use that number. Just put it in the lower corner so it can be cropped out.
For this kind of shooting though, shooting tethered is the best bet.
If you don't have the software and cables etc. to shoot tethered, but are taking a notebook computer, just pop out the flash card and record the photos to a unique file sequence or folder or whatever and note that number on the appropriate form.
Hope this is a start.
