Does Kirkland = Epson Photo Paper at WalMart?

I just visited WalMart to purchase a 100-pack of Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper and found there was none. The rep there said that the WalMart Kirkland house brand was being supplied by Epson, and they offered a 110-pack at $19. Might anyone have any info on this? Anyone tested this Kirkland paper against Epson?

    Good Question

That's a good question. You should tell them you need a sample.

More importantly, they have WalMart in the Phillipines?

    Re: Good Question

We even have WalMart in the UK !
They just haven't changed the ASDA brand name yet.
But it has WalMart products and advertising, so I think it won't be long now.

    Re: Good Question

Guess I had better buy some - taking advantage of their money-back guarantee - and test it myself. No WalMart yet in the Philippines, am visiting in Seattle currently.

I've used the Kirkland paper and it's pretty good. And for $0.15 a sheet it is very cheap. I've used 'Jet Print Photo' Professional Photo Paper from International Paper before ($0.50 a sheet) and other (Canon) more expensive papers, and I notice no significant difference. The Kirkland paper is 260g/m2 and 10mil thick (same as the JetPrint). If it is an Epson product then it is probably not acid free, and probably not archival but hey, it's $0.15 a sheet.

Correction: Kirkland is a Cosco brand, not WalMart. That said, I purchased a 125 sheet pack for $19 and have laid the printing results against the Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper, and see them a quite comparable. The Kirkland is just very slightly darker in tone. Appears to be excellent value.
