    Digital Programs
Hello, can someone help me find a program that I can use that will automatically display my digital SLR studio shot so that it displays on my computer screen?
I want to shoot studio portraits and have the photo appear immediately so that I can evaluate it. Help and suggestions appreciated.

Welcome to the site, D2. I've moved your thread here to the Digital Imaging Forum. I know you're seeking help with your studio workflow, but this really is a software issue, so I'm sure you'll have more chance of getting an answer here.

Personally, I've never tried what you're suggesting, but I'm sure lots of photographers have. I'm wondering if you actually need third-party sofware to do this.

I would look in your DSLR manual and see if it covers directly tethering the camera to a pc. If so, you may be able to do it through the pc's OS (such as Windows Explorer), as the camera's CF card may appear as a drive that you can click on and view on your monitor.

It also stands to reason that if your camera appears as a drive on your pc, you may be able to view the shots in any image editing program such as photoshop.

    Hope that helps...

    Welcome aboard...

Although i haven't used it extensively yet, the software that came bundled with my Canon EOS 20D (the canon software) works this way.... you can control the camera remotely... plug it in, and then simply control the shutter release there... of course you can not see the image until you take the shot, since this is a SLR.....

Check with you camera, you should get the answer, otherwise, sharing what DSLR you own, would help with anyone who might own the same model, and has done what you are asking for!

If your using Canon or Haselblad then they have a wireless capability which transmits the files to a PC. Don't know about other makes. The Canon version works on 30D upwards see link. Not sure if this is what your looking for.
