Re: Z
Wow, interesting shot Dray. I would prefer a tad more pop and perhaps the tip of his nose to be sharper, but otherwise it's really there. Maybe a little more light in his eye balls, too. You may be able to most of these in post. Very good idea ........!

Re: Z
Thanks, both.
I agree about the tip of the nose. Easy, I think.
More light in eyeballs - maybe. I see where you're going with it.
More pop - not sure exactly what you mean. Color or detail?
Thanks again!

Re: Z
The skin looks like he had been working on fixing a big oily machine
eyes more visible would be nice , I mean with more light

Re: Z
Looks good. I like the darkness 'emphasis' on his facial plain, if that's a word.
I agree with Armando, I was gonna say, wow, shiny! lol.

Re: Z
You got something against oil? lol
Brighter eyes, cool.
Shine - I wasn't going for reality (really?! they gasp). Is it a big problem? If so, say so. :D
Thanks guys.

Re: Z
By pop, I meant maybe a contrast boost. But wouldn't want to lose anything in the areas that are already dark, either. Hmm.

Re: Z
Oh, okay. Let's see what we can do...

Re: Z
I like it much as it is. I'm with Greg, wouldn't change a thing.

Re: Z
I think the "frame of darkness" is too strong across his forehead and it needs to be feathered/faded more in this area. Otherwise it is fine.

Re: Z
Thanks guys.
Tom, I know what you're saying. I feel the same way. But the shadow is that way because he's wearing a hat...

Re: Z
Great work dray! The catch-light in the specular highlights is a bit blue in places, I would like to see this a smidgen more color neutral in the highlights range, but verrry slight. Compositionally speaking, I think the image could benefit from a tighter crop, either way - from the sides, or the top and bottom. Being completely surrounded by negative space makes the image feel ungrounded, with a closer area from the edge of the frame to detail, I think it makes the image a lot more grounded, or stationary, balanced.

Re: Z
Thanks, Anbesol.
Blue - do you mean in the eyes? Or on the left forehead, cheek, etc.? I definitely see it in the eyes; it was something I forgot to correct before posting and it's been bugging me.
TIghter crop - I agree. I couldn't decide whether to leave some space or just crop right in. But I think you're right. If you're gonna close in, close in.
On another note, does it look too dark to you? I wanted it pretty dark and mysterious... and to have him kind of emerging from that pool of darkness.
