    Yearling Deer

I liked the contrast of light and shadow on her, especially on her face... but wonder if the contrast might be too much and the darks too dark?

    Any C&C welcome

If you think it's too contrasty did you look at this in B&W? If that looks good, maybe a tighter crop eliminating most of the tree and some foreground. Can you lighten the left side of her face and right side a bit to reveal a little more detail? I would also consider cloning that white thing hanging from her mouth. Her hind quarter looks sharper then her face to me. How far away where you?
    Just some thoughts.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

    Go ahead, Pete

Ed-- Fairly close. This was taken with a 300mm, and has a very slight crop.

I like the composition, but it does seem to have a bit too much contrast . Also late in the day I'm a big fan of that golden cast the sun gives .

Great the way they let you get so close, wild deer here would be gone at the first hint of a human.

Yep the contrast is very nice. The palette is good too. Sharpening does seem to help it, and maybe saturation up just a little. Did Hminx play with it, because the version in his reply seems to address both those issues.
