    Woodford Reserve

My g/f thought to present my b-day gift a few days early...yes, a behemoth of a bottle of my favorite bourbon (along with a 4gb eye-fi card). I feel like this image is either missing something or has too much of it. I hit it with the topaz adjust filter to really smooth out the edges and masked some of them back on the cork. C&C please!

The colors and the dof work are really great on this. I can't criticize the composition much either as it seems a good choice.

Because the cork is really the only thing in focus (somewhat) then it should be pin sharp, this one is a bit soft. Overall a good idea, I would have liked to see the elements closer together and have been able to bearly read the name on the bottle. I like the color treatment, warm, like a good bourbon.

Only complaint is that the cap/cork is not sharp. And it really needs to be.

I agree on the cork. I might have to bust out the tripod and redo this one.

    Re: Woodford Reserve

I gave it a re-shoot. I'm going to have to be careful how many times I do this or I won't have any left though! Virtually the same setup, but with a slightly different angle so I didn't get the line of light from my other room. I can't decide if I liked it better that way or not. Somewhat of a different treatment with topaz.

Been there done that...a bit anyway. I'm not so much a Scotch fan as I am a Bourbon fan. I've been doing my exploring with those too, and this is my favorite so far. Any thoughts on the image?
