    Withering Roses

A shot of my withering bouquet. Thought they looked cool.

Nice capture. I have a rose bush with one rose. It had started withering nicely, so I went into my house, set up my camera, came out to photograph it, and all the pedals had fallen off.

I like it -- though I hated it when my wife used to "dry" nice fresh roses I just bought her. I went to live orchids instead.

Maybe a square crop and a little darker.

For this kind of shots I like window light, I'll place them so the light comes from the side, not direct sun, and if possible have the background fade into darkness,
early or late in the day works better
if you own a tripod use it , set aperture from f/8 to 16 , and low iso

Did you use any backlight? It looks like a straight on flash? It loses dimension like that. Some lighting from the rear would have helped add depth. Or is it there and I am not seeing it?
