    I personally prefer the first one. The darker background somehow adds more depth to the image and brings out subtle contrasts in the face. I think the crop is fine the way it is -- I would fear that adding too much more frame to the bottom might introduce more background that may have the potential to take away from the subject. I like the tuft of hair behind the ear -- definitely adds charm. My opinion would be to take the first one and run with it.

    Thanks, a. I think the contrast in her face is basically identical shot to shot... it's just that the lighter bg makes her face seem darker and flatter. I don't think I like the effect. :D

    Thanks, BW. I like her face in the first and, as mentioned above, I think that has something to do with the dark bg. Appreciate the feedback...
