The pictures look off color and cool to me. Perhaps a White Balanve issue?

I really like the first one. I feel that it would be a good subject shot straight on with as little sky as possible, I also feel the same way about #2. I also think that shooting at a different time of day would have helped, the overall brightness hurts the shots. Don't you hate to find a wonderful subject like this and powerlines are hanging all over the place.

I think the first one needs a reshoot....the shadows look like your into the sun a bit.
