Re: Winnipeg in August
Hmm.
I think these could almost work in a 'Day in the Life type' presentation, Don. Not quite though, for they have technical and compositional issues that cost them dearly.
The top one, why tilt it like that? I just don't get how that makes it more artistic or better.
The 2nd one is kind of reverse psychology, like you think it's a plain shot, but maybe it's not.. and I really looked it over to see. But I still see just a pic of a boat on a dock. Was there supposed to be some other thing (punchline) that my careless eyes aren't catching today.. ? :) Let me know. It's also way over processed.
The bottom one is the most interesting though it is really just above a snapshot. But it's blurry and I can barely read the text (pls, don't say you shot it from the bus! LOL :) )
At the risk of repeating my past critiques, I think you have an artistic eye here but that if the technical execution was just a bit better the presentation phase would go so much smoother. Work on the weaknesses.

Thanks G. I shot from a bus. The boat is in a shopping center parking lot.
