Wind Chime
I guess you could say that this is my first attempt at an artistic shot. I just thought this sculputre was really interesting so I took a couple of pics and this is what I came up with. I dont know who the original artist was, he or she was not credited.

Re: Wind Chime
It looks like an upside down cross.
Theres a lot going on in the image. I think its too much going on, and the background being very high contrast, breaks up the shape of the sculpture you shot, then on the bottom of the image everything seems to sort of spill out of a composition. The purpose of the print is also somewhat ambiguous. The background really hides a lot of the shape and detail of the sculpture

Thanks for your notes Anbesol. I'm still trying to figure this stuff out. To offer a little background it was a windy day and this thing was chiming at me as I walked out, almost begging me to take a picture of it.
Problem is, I dont know how to take these kinds of shots. Like you said the lack of purpose is because I didn't have a purpose other than to take a picture of this thing, I dont really know what I wanted out of this photo other than to capture the chime through the gap in the celing. I guess my purpose was to get the light coming down and the contrast of the bells. In other words, I just thought it looked cool.

Re: Wind Chime
I agree this shot is very busy. For it to work. I think you would've had to isolate the Chime a bit more. The background and that light streak area add to the business. I think if you find a way to shoot this against a very simple BG, like pure white, it would make this photo much better.

Re: Wind Chime
Thanks Leels, I will try again next time I'm there. Just to see if I can get a better frame.
