Wildflower Field

Hello all, I took some photos while in the Uinta National Forest a couple of days ago, most of which didn't turn out so great but I liked this one quite a bit.

Please give some advice or thoughts on this photo, I took quite a few of this field with the sky in the background but liked this one the most. I felt it emphisized the flowers with the least amount of distractions.

Anyway, as always thanks in advance for the advice.

Hello,

I think that I would crop at the top of the frame to get rid of the area where there are no flowers. Other than that I like it.

Would it be possible to try an even lower angle? I don't know if it would be interesting or not but it might worth a try.

I did take a few of this field at a different angle, however I didn't like the aiplane trails in the air. I wated for some time for them to disapear but the planes kept coming, it must be a common flight zone.

Anyway here is one of the field at a lower angle, thanks for the input.

Thank your for displaying another one. Actually, I prefer your second picture. The lower angle seems to work better here. Beside, having some mountains and sky gives a perspective of scale that the first picture don't have (a simple observation, this is not necessarily a problem as far as I am concerned). I don't mind the airplane trails at all but that is just a matter of personal tastes.
The only thing that disturb me is the bent horizon line. I suspect that the field you have shot is on a hill but I would straigthen the horizon unless shooting the scene from further away so we clearly see that this is an hill (but then, that would be a totally different picture and you would loose your point of view).

I think the tilted trees would then be more disturbing than the flowered hillside.

I appreciate your comments regarding these photo's, I agrree that I like the shot from a lower angle also it does give a better prespective.

OMG Chuck,

You are absolutely right. I withdraw my comment about the horizon line. I was so drawn by the foreground that I somewhat forgot about the trees.

I like the second one better also. The airplane trails do not bother me and I love the colors, the blue sky adding to the picture, and the idea of seeing so many beautiful flowers in a field. Question: Did you lie down on the ground to get this perspective or were the flowers actually that high? Just curious.

To answer your question I didn't lay down they where actually tall enough I could set up my tripod without extending the legs and it put the camera at that height.

The second shot with the sky is the keeper. The other just does not offer any sense of contrast. Might even look better later in the day with a less harsh sunlight.

Nothing of interest to catch the eye in the first.If you had a handy child you could have put him/her sitting in amongst the flowers holding one or just looking at them. The second is for the wall.Well done.
