    2 RAW DJ Photos.

So, I just started shooting RAW. Here are 2 shots that I think turned out halfway decent. Let me know what I can improve on.

I like the first shot, though the purple glow to his right (i'm assuming from the exposure after the flash) is slightly distracting. Good emotion. Nice job shooting in what i'm sure were low light situations. The second guy looks rather...waxy and i can see through his hat.

The only lighting in that room was the blue light setup so the DJs could see the mixer. That caused the glow you are referring to.

The 2nd shot was somethign like a 2 second exposure, that DJ ended up moving after about .5 seconds causing the background to become slightly visible. Should I attempt to clone that out when it happens again?

I really like the first one, but the second one seems kind of snapshot-ish. I would like to see some longer exposures- do these guys scratch much? I think a stoboscopic flash effect while they're scratching the LPs would be pretty cool. Or at least some multiple exposures with the flash.
Cool stuff! My personal opinion (for what it's worth- less than $0.02) is that you should avoid PS editing and get it right on location. As I've often said, a better original lends itself to editing. Have fun!

These 2 DJs don't scratch much, however Collagey (http://www.mattmcinvale.com/gallery/...arlor/CRW_9769) does. I will see if I can figure out the multiple flash settings on my 550 next time I shoot. The lighting in this bar didn't offer much excitement for longer exposures. Both of these shots were at least 2 seconds, this give good lighting effects when their is something interesting happening.

I try to do this as much as possible, however if something needs to be fixed I will do it.

    Thanks for the comments!
