It looks just like a pile of clothes on the sidewalk at first glance but then a closer look reveals a person, interesting shot.

Beautiful and touching shot. Great title too.

But what could be done to make it a better photo?

You might try cropping a little title around the figure because it is hard to see the person. Maybe lighten the figure slightly to highlight the person.

I like the idea but wish the light was a little more interesting or there was maybe a self-absorbed person walking by demonstrating some kind of "first world problem". But since you probably came upon this scene as we see it here I think it's a good shot.

I feel it's a little cramped around the figure on the ground.
The painted clothes rail in the foreground takes my attention to the right and won't let go to look to the left.
There's another shot there with the two mannequins talking to each other over the body.
But the right hand one is just obscured.

Perhaps shoot from a little higher, and a little wider (or zoom with your feet).
So you get all of the mannequins, and can get in more to the left.
But keep the whole window on the right hand edge, that's the frame for that edge of the picture.

    Re: What's real?
A potentially great shot, unfortunately for reasons beyond control,
    - the person is placed too far to the left,
    - the foreground box is alittle too much to the left as well, blocking the white shirt manuquein.
Nevertheless, it is still a very good and special shot.

The combination of the foreground box with clothing picture, the manuqeuinn, and the person sleeping on the floor, is a special mixture that tells a story.

Do you think the image can be improved in post processing in the following way -
    - brighten up the person
    - have a bit of different tone or brightness for the floor vs the building bottom part grey,...looks too close in tone and color.

All good comments and suggestions, folks !

Personally I would choose not to emphasize the person too much.
