What does this need? A waterfall

    Hey all,
I'm not really sure where to go with this image. What does it need, in your view, to your eye? Thank you!

IMHO, I think it would have been better had you had an unobstructed view to the falls. All those branches are distracting. Colours are great though

    Hi ODM,

I can see what you were going after with this shot. To me, it suffers from competing subjects. Is it the (a) tree over the tranquil pool or (b) the falls.

IMHO, I think you could have worked this shot both ways. For (a), I would have opened up the crop and lens to get more of the tree and a shallow DOF. For (b) I would have moved such that the tree helped frame the falls. Maybe make a nice diptych.

    Thanks for the feedback!
I see the consensus here is: lose the trees! There isn't an open view of the falls there, unfortunately. I did think that having the falls obstructed might lend little mystery, but I guess that didn't work at all.
Oh, and OS, we try to keep it PG on this site. Diptych indeed!
