    Wedding poster (Final version)

I decided to go with a 16x20 output size on this, rather than as a 24x36 poster. I didn't think I could push it that far. Tweaked, black point pushed up a bit, and lens blur filter added to blur out the background. Shot with a Pro1 at ISO 50.

    Stephen,

My only critique is the title and the background at the bottom, it looks like its hiding the rest of the photo. I would drop it down a bit to give more room to the stalks. Other than that the photo is well composed and the colours are terrific.

I really like the expression on the ladies faces, Typical man - faining interest!

Do you mean the Canon Powershot Pro1?

Yes, it was taken with a Canon Powershot Pro1, ISO 50, no flash, zoomed out all the way to 200mm. The Pro 1 seems to treat color differently than my Canon 10D. The colors are more vibrant with the Pro 1, straight out of the camera. Vibrant to the point of being almost unnatural, like in technocolor movies.

I really like it but while we are one the subject of the banner at the bottom...did you try black with white lettering?

Stephen....I like everything about this shot except that the bottom right is dark. The young man's coat blends in with the shadowy area. It probably looks better printed out, so this may be a minor thing. The DOF is outstanding. Colors sizzle. Good mood to it.

Have you got the effect set to vivid? I have mine fixed in normal mode most of the time and they seem natural to me. Compared to my Fuji Finepix 4700 the colours seem muted, because the Fuji is the same as canon in Vivid mode.

The Pro 1 was set to natural color. As far as the boy's coat, I had to clone out a man's shoulder and then blend in the foliage while defining the coat. In print there is a distinct edge, but it does look a bit dark on screen. I played around with background colors for the text box, sampling the purple in the girl's flowers, the green in the foliage and a straight black with white letters and a white with black letters. The one I selected was a sample of the girl's skin tone with black letters. This looks the best to me.
