    Wedding in Philadelphia

I was trying to be a little creative this weekend at one of my weddings here in Philadelphia, where i am headquartered. What do you think?

Wow, those look great! I am very impressed/inspired by all of these. I am interested in wedding photography but I am just a beginner and only poking around the idea at the moment. These pictures make me want to look into it a lot more and really work on improving my technique.

Thanks DGK*CRONE and rylan. Wedding photography can get boring if you stick to the typical traditional shots so I am trying to set me self apart from the normal wedding photographer by being creative with reflections like that last one.

Too many to critique individually, but overall they are very creative and well done. - TF

    Re: Wedding in Philadelphia

I am not a wedding or even portrait photographer.

First - The military guy looks terribly out of place and uncomfortable. Was he really a foot and a half taller than everyone else? Also, my eye would go right to the white of the brides dress if his hat and belt weren't even whiter.

2nd - The squiggly metal takes too much from her face and she is too soft for me - especially the eyes.

I think my favorite would be the 4th with the little girl if the 'purple' could have been kept bellow her chin and there wasn't that fuzziness on the side of her head. Also that big white 'tooth' coming down from the bride's mouth.

The last is my favorite and would make a great album cover shot. You might look at it with almost all of the actual cropped out.

    Re: Wedding in Philadelphia

Great stuff OldClicker. I really appreciate the critique. I hadn't noticed most of the flaw that you mentioned.
The military guy was part of the wedding party and just decided to stick out while being the only male in uniform, but what was I supposed to do? Ask him to change close or get out of the picture? hah
The photo was taken at low aperture and i liked to soft feel to her face, although the eyes could have used a little sharpening as you stated.
I was already thinking about the last one as their album cover. Thanks again for your insight on things that my eyes do not see.
