Water Lily

Another request for critique. Please let me know how you think I can improve.

The color is off, a little too green/grey. Normally I like a nice close crop but I think that this one is a little too tight. It also looks like you shot in bright sunlight which is very difficult light (too much contrast so you end up with an image that doesn't have a full tonal range) try again on an overcast morning.

ok...this is a straight image with no editing! with that info...I can back down the greens and darken the highlights. I can't try again, it is 2 hours away! ;)

Maybe a little more shade, but the composition and DOF seem fine.

The background (bg) is nicely out of focus and sets off the subject well. The framing is fine with me, but MB1 has apoint about the colors. Tweak it a little , but not too much.
