Burrowing Owls @ 300mm. These were taken out at Shoreline Park while on the golf course.Totally unexpected moment no tripod... point / shoot. #1 is pretty sharp for hand held @300mm?

What do you think of the overall composition? Thanks

LOL... Those are great! I love the expressions on their faces. Nice job on handheld at 300mm too. Any image stabilization on your cam?

No;The D80 has no Image Stabilization.Additionally this was shot without a VR lense. I used ISO 640 to help.That brought up the shutter speed.

Great shots Rick. I don't know if I have ever seen an owl standing on the ground. Well Done.

Way cool. I see the best stuff on the golf course, but usually don't have my camera. Never seen these, of course. The first photo is terrific. I like the one you can see and the "peeper" conttrasting with one antoher. The second shot is the type of thing when you get one or two quickj and unexpected shots.

Wow again.The details are awesome, the feathers on the birds, the blades of grass,
those enormous eyes, it all makes a great photo
I do wish that "jabba the hud" fellow on the right would have showed a bit more of
himself. But he looks like he is peeking at you.! The bottom photo shows too much grass and not enough detail for me. The first one is a keeper!

So,,,,,forget the photo, how was the game? I left work early on Friday to play and got in 6 holes before a rain forced us off the course. Rain. In SD, in April...,come on!
