    A Really Nice Place

Seems I never have a shortage of nasty ol' Salton Sea images to share. Here's one from July that I just got around to processing. It's an HDR.

I like the warm light and bad shape of the building, the street light in the back is almost like a joke

    Armando,

Dang, it must really be good then I think I like the surreal HDR effect myself, but to me it is creating a magical feeling around the building, and the building doesn't deserve it The taj mahal , maybe.

Have you tried a panno crop, just below the blue can and just above the street light. ( guess using the word street is stretching it a bit...... )

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

the composition, colours are good imo. the lamp post is great. even better the wire running to the left from the lamp post. my only critique to this shot is that it lacks real black areas. so it's kind of greyish all around. other than that, i really like it and enjoyed most of your pics from this area. keep on sharing!

    Re: A Really Nice Place

Hminx, Here's a crop. I had to play around with it a little to see what worked.

Liban, agree on the blacks. I did try a few expts and found that increasing the black really gave it a different feeling, but it looked a bit harsh. Then again, not doing so creates the surreal HDR look that Tankus mentions. Two different feelings for sure, just have to pick your favorite effect I suppose.

Tankus, you're right, it DOES look like a stage set! I suppose it's because the HDR gives the foreground a lit up look, like stage lights are sitting above it. It's sort of comical that way.

    Thanks also Arne and Tyson.
