    I like them both, ctrique would be
    #1 just cant really make out his face and its all oof, the guy in the shadows to the left is distracting. Good subject though, and am sure that a good photo opportunity is possible.
    #2 I prefer, maybe a straighten and a little crop of the foreground, what is the kid looking at open mouthed??

    Second shot is the keeper in my opinion. I like the symmetry of the supporting elements with the subject left of center, but I would rotate it left to straighten it up and maybe dodge the face on the left just a little (like 6-9%) to bring it out of the shadow.
