Waiting my turn

I shoot mostly sports action but try to capture some candid shots when able. I was looking for this type of shot in which I was shooting through the fence. The light was harsh and I had some bad shadows on the face that I tried to correct in photoshop. Any thoughts.

Have you tried to put your camera right up to the fence? It's kind of a mixed bag of nuts depending on your conditions, angle you are shooting from etcetcetc..... Over the years I have been able to get a lot of good shots that way.

This was the look I was looking for. I wanted the fence in the picture with just a slight blur. I've often shot through a fence to get some action shots of a game but that was when I didn't want the fence to show.
