Question what's that dark line-like shadow going across through the building?

I don't know as a photograph. Seems to be suffering from so many blended tones and the building looks skewed which may be what you wanted but I'd do some distortion perspective work if it were mine.
I also have a different feel for the building and if I had to live in a city, I'd much rather live in this building than an apartment or condo which all look like vestibules of Hell than this one does.
Looks like a fun shot to play with in photoshop. May I?

I love the title. The under-statedness of the photo is haunting.

Daq - I'd like it better w/o the street and sidewalk. It also looks too artificial at the top with what appears to be a graduated color filter. Not that I don't like experiments or such, but it's simply too much and goes over the line into obvious manipulation. The house is a good find though. It seems like one of those ultra plain houses you would see on a farm.

Yeah, I get it and I agree. The basic shot is very uniform and uninteresting. It needs some blend to make it compelling, but I did it wrong I think. I do think the building itself is worthy of photgraphing. It is so forlorn.

I like this photo. Its very moody. Maybe the title tries to define it too much. Also, notice the "H" that the cross boards make on the left side of the building????
