Vermillion Lakes, and some Alpenglow ;)
This was an even colder evening :| I even included some alpenglow I took a while ago for readingr and deborah :) It used to be panoramic but I had to cut it to put it on here.
What do you think?
Re: Vermillion Lakes, and some Alpenglow ;)
On the bottom pic the out of focus (oof) branch and weeds(?) are distracting. They are not “big” enough to be a part of the composition. The nearest post appears to be very slightly oof, almost as if it was a mistake.
Second picture is well composed leading the eye to the center of interest. On my monitor there is almost no definition in any of the darker tree. Pic overall on my computer (omc) is dark and has little contrast.
The mountains pic is pleasing to view. I think the sky needs to be burned down a tad. Not enough definition in the trees omc.
The pond pic is very handsome. But, (there’s always that BUT) the one darn tree that goes out of the top of the frame hurts the image flow.
A very nice group of photos

On the whole, a very nice set of pictures. Very well composed and shot. I would, however, have given the uppermost picture a little more exposure. On my computer the lower quater is black and indistinct. I might say the same for the second one from the bottom. A little too dark. The others are very nice in my opinion. Good work!

Re: Vermillion Lakes, and some Alpenglow ;)
Unfortunately on some computers its really dark and some its good, my screen is set really bright so to you mine probably seem dark...
I actually liked the out of focus grass and bushes in the pond one, thats just me. The sky on the mountain shot is light because there is a cloud on it which makes it kind of misty, and I never do burning or anything, too much fooling around is too much fooling around. The dark trees aren't supposed to be detailed, and its always a matter of taste whether you like that or not...
I do agree with the tree comming out of the sulphur dip though, I will be reshooting there soon, and with a tripod so I don't have to crank the ISO. SO that should be better!
Thanks for comments!
Re: Vermillion Lakes, and some Alpenglow ;)
Now that is what I call alpenglow which I like..the bootom two pictures need a bit of cropping and possibly a re-take for me.
The bottom the posts and bushes need to be in focus
the next up the blackness of the trees just cut the picture in half and you may as well have a black painted line across the picture. A little fine tuning in PS would cure this by giving some more detail to the trees - or a little exposure since you don't seem to like playing with photos.
The alpenglow is lovely but the colours to me are a little dull need to increase saturation a bit especially in the sky. The trees in this one are fine.
The composition of the top photo is intriguing and I do like it but it is very dark. I think you should have given the subject a little bit more exposure - I would like to see this one taken again if you have the opportunity.
