Which one??????? Could I have done anything different?

The top shot is the best by far. The trees in the center of the shot break it up too much though, IMO.

Definitely the top one .. the others are underexposed. One trick I have learned also is to do night shots when there is still just a little colour in the sky - if you have the chance of a reshoot, try it just when the sun has gone down.

The First One definitley!!
Didache makes a good suggestion about the sun.
You might even get a bit more definition in the palm trees with just the right time of day and a time exposure and a tripod. As I recall there should be enough ambient light in from of the Mirage to retain some color in the trees even when it is getting fairly dark.
One other small suggestion, there's a marqee at the lower right that says The Mirage that you might want to include all of or carefully frame to delete all together.

I am new to photography and have some good equipment. Now i need to train my eyes and to think artistically. I am looking forward to all the help and knowledge that this forum

As everyone else has said, I think the first one is the best. I don't know if it was intentional, but it almost looks as if a giant is reading a book :D.
