    Way in

Not sure if this works, but I like it's simplicity. Was really tempted to wait for a pedestrian/cyclist etc but it kinda felt a little cliched. Not sure. Also toyed with cropping off the kerb but, although it neatly splits it into three horizontal bands, it seemed weird without the kerb. I kinda think it looks better without the sign to the right maybe too, as in th link below.

Much better with the large link. Click and hit 'l' please.

    Re: Way in

I would like to see a little more detail in the black as I'm having a hard time seeing where the ground ends and the wall begins. I looks as if the door is part way up a wall. - Terry

I like this. On my monitor, the dark areas look all right. There may be a teeny tiny bit of barrel distortion though.

    Re: Way in

My monitor is pretty dark so I can't see the sidewalk either. But I do love the contrasting colors. That door/frame really pops out with the muted colors around it.

A few have mentioned that the blacks seem dark, but on a calibrated monitor it seems fine. Weird. Maybe it's a browser issue?

Thanks for the replies and comments guys. This is the other version I like, without the extra sign on the wall.

My monitor is also calibrated. There really is no 'brightness' calibration. - TF

This makes me think of Palestine. The ridge on the bottom could be more well lit or detailed, and there could stand to be a bit more red on the top.

I like both versions of this, seeing plenty of detail in the blacks on my Mac (dunno if that makes any difference) monitor.

    Re: Way in

Definitely has strong design, but also throws me for a loop. Maybe too many objects and colors? I think that the upper reddish brick area is fun but that if it were painted white that it would be a tad less busy. I might trim a bit off the left side. Good eye for seeing this, and capturing it.

I think it's fine. It works, the simplicity and bold colors make the shot, perfectly cropped as well.
