They all kind of hint at what I was trying for.

I like this shot, one of my faves of yours. I just plain like it when people go places with their work that others have not gone. Very imaginative. I'm curious, did you plan for this shot as is, or did you find in PP?

I might try to clean up the noise a little, if that's possible. But wow... talk about a bird's eye view.

Arne: Sort of planned and sort of unplanned. I took a lot of sunset shots here. I really liked when the sun was still visible and I got lens flare. But the second I took this one I could see on the LCD that it was a good ground burst candidate. I played with a few of the more normal ones first but they all disappointed...

Dray: It is on the 13th floor of a tower in Denver. Yeah it is noisy. I should try to run it through one of the noise reduction programs, but that would make it look a bit plastic. But that might be cool. It already kind of looks like a model.

My choice would be "Sum Of All Fears". Right locale and all. Is that where the stadium is?
I also like the perspective leading from residential to downtown. I this case I think that the noise works well if you use the SOAF title. The noise could represent the radiation fallout from a dirty bomb.
Now if you had another sun peeking through the clouds, that would sintch it.

No Greg, I am pretty sure it was on 100 iso to try to minimize noise. No tripod, but I had a stable platform to put it on. And still it is quite noisy. Not exactly sure why. I mean, obviously the tone mapping enhances it, particularly when doing tone mapping from a single raw....

Thanks for the comments. I will probably try it in B&W, plus I need to get some noise software. I want that toned down just a bit.

Maybe we should have a monthly project called, "extreme sunsets"

You certainly have your own style here Daq. I think it works but that the flare snowflakes (I'm winging this) may be a bit much. All depends on the eye of the beholder. Looks like something from space is emerging where the sun should be. Definitely a fantasy like photo. In some ways I like the normal shot better. I guess they're both good in different ways, depending on what you plan to do w/ them.
