    Motherhood

Does the flare on this photo ruin it? or add a lil' something to it?
    All comments and advice appreciated.
    Cheers.

    Hey PT,

Nice one. The flare doesn't bother me. I think the angle is good, but I would try the composition with the negetive space in front of the mom.... and maybe include more of the mom. You never know... That might not work.

    Cheers,

Interesting shot. It seems a tad bland, but a neat shot to look at. I love the black and white.

    Good shot,

    Jared

    Thanks everyone for the comments.
Jared - I'm sorry your feel it's bland - I was hoping for a tranquil feeling...
    Oldschool -
Thanks for the suggestions. This shot was taken in Olympia, so it may be some time before I'll get down there again. I like the thought of playing with the negative space. I can't recall how much more of the statue I could get in, but I'll try that also. There are a lot of boats in the background and that had a lot to do with the angle and the amount of the statue that was captured.

After looking at the picture some more I will make a slightly tighter crop to get rid of some of the glare. Something like this, maybe even tighter...

    Hey PT,

This 2nd version works a a lot better for me. I no longer have a comment on composition.

However, following on Jared's comment... you might try lightening the background to make the subject pop a little more. This may help, may not. I actually like it as is.
