    Two Snakes

This is an image I captured early this year in Michigan.

    Re: Two Snakes

I like the composition of the photo my only problem with it is the background distracts as there is too much out of focus which caused my eyes to keep refocusing on the snakes.

readingr, isn't that a good thing?

I like the DOF, it makes the snakes centre stage. Only thing I don't care much for is the use of a flash, it kind of removes some of the natural feeling; and gives an undesirable shadow on the log behind.

    Well spotted though!

    Re: Two Snakes

The composition is nice (even though the snakes kind of merge), and the pic is sharp ... and the colors are just popping right into my face!

Alas, the use of the flash kills the pic... at least for me. The light is too harsh, unforgiven and artificial for this type of subject.

Does that mean I can do better? Hell no! I can't even get a nice pic of my cat!

    Cheers,

    Steph.

Buddy, looks like you need a diffuser for your flash
You can tell too obviously that you used a flash

Hey did you scare the snakes?

i like the vibrant greens (snakes and leaves), very nice
perhaps try croping a little off the top of the image .. maybe this will
put more focus on the snakes
    otherwise a very cool image
    well done!!
